About Us
Life Rewritten was created by Beth Mealia, following her diagnosis of Stage IV lung cancer that metastasized to the brain.
Through her journey, Beth learned that even when life seems to fall apart, something profoundly beautiful can still emerge. Much like a butterfly, transformation happens in silence, strength, and surrender.
Inspired by the original Ruby Slipper Fund on the Sunshine Coast BC, Beth launched this Life Rewritten chapter to extend that same compassion, hope, and support — not only across Ontario, but to women everywhere who are navigating illness, change, or healing.

When life changes without warning, you still hold the pen. Your story isn’t over — it’s simply being rewritten.”
-Beth Mealia
Our Mission
To empower women whose lives have been rewritten by diagnosis or crisis — offering compassionate support, practical help, and a sense of community inspired by Beth Mealia’s journey through Stage IV cancer.
We believe in transformation — that healing unfolds in many forms, and that every woman deserves the chance to spread her wings again.
Our Purpose
We are dedicated to helping women:
• Receive financial support for treatment-related or urgent life needs.
• Find safe spaces to connect, share, and heal without judgment.
• Access wellness and emotional resources that encourage holistic recovery.
• Participate in community events and fundraisers that raise awareness and inspire hope.
• Celebrate resilience and renewal — honouring every woman who finds strength through change.

Why the Butterfly
The butterfly represents rebirth, freedom, and courage — the beauty that can emerge after transformation.
Just as a butterfly must go through stillness before it takes flight, many women endure seasons of waiting, uncertainty, and change before they rise again.
The Ruby Slipper embraces that symbolism — reminding every woman that even when she feels cocooned by hardship, her wings are forming.
